Celebrate Your Wisdom

We all know the world-at-large (politics, wars, climate) is not doing so great right now, but do we know how we want the world to be? I do!

I want a world where feminine energy infuses hyper-masculine politics, religions and corporate mindsets with healing, creativity and contemplation.

I want leaders chosen for their compassion, their ability to recognize all that is seen and unseen in a situation and for the wisdom of their lived experience.

In other words, I want Crones to rule the world!

This summer, we’re doing our part in world transformation by hosting an intergenerational, cross-cultural festival that honors the Crone and celebrates feminine energy with gusto!

There will be art-making, drumming, music, storytelling, performance and more – all done in a beautiful outdoor setting with opportunities for heartfelt conversation and connecting with the wise people around you.

And if Crone Carnival 2023 was any indication, there will also be plenty of laughter and fun. Last year’s participants said they loved:

the experience of uplifting the sacred feminine, and the uplifting of creativity as a sacred process. I just really enjoyed the whole community that was present.

gathering with other Crones of all ages. The playful and depthful exercises. The opportunity to create a new story celebrating the Crone.

gaining the belief that I and other women can celebrate all our stages together with tenderness, fun, and respect. And a renewed belief in the powers of my own storytelling.

the artistry, the dance, the drums, and mostly the encouragement of women to enjoy being creative with each other.

This event is for all ages and genders: Crones, their fans (Cronies), and Crones-in-training, with activities in English and/or Spanish.

July 20, 2024 starting about 3pm in St Paul. Stay tuned for further details & ticket info.

Also, if you’re wondering, what is a Crone? “A Crone,” according to Dr. Clarissa Pinkola-Estés, Jungian scholar, poet and cantadora, “represents the ability to see, more than just with one’s eyes alone, but to see with the heart’s eyes, with the soul’s eyes, and through the eyes of the creative force.”

Truly,

Carolyn Kolovitz

Funding for reflective pilgrimages, Crone Carnival and Latina affinity circles is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
