Winter Solstice Celebration

Affirming the Joy and resilience of life even in our darkest season

Let’s gather for an evening of beauty, connection, and reflection to welcome the return of light. Gorgeous music and meditative circle dances have a calming power that can break through the hectic or heavy energy of this season. This embodied, participatory celebration awakens connection to life energy that embraces and flows through all the ups and downs of life.

This year’s celebration will begin and end with dances that honor Mary, evoking her fearlessness, her faith, and her presence with us as we cross over one threshold to the next. There will be opportunity to reflect on your past year’s highs and lows and small group sharing. Dancing by candlelight will help us attune to the inner light within. We will also continue the Wisdom Dances tradition of drawing a word which can accompany you through the year.

Emily Jarrett Hughes is a mother, dancer, healer and wisdom teacher. She completed a two-year intensive training in women’s ritual dances with Laura Shannon. The weekly dance circle and seasonal celebrations she leads through Wisdom Dances are dedicated to joy, community, and connection to nature. She gets tremendous satisfaction witnessing how the dancing helps women cultivate their inner authority, a grounded sense of purpose, and ease amidst change.

Move into the gifts of Winter.

Winter Rest:

An invitation to fertile darkness.

Winter is a powerful time for resting, spiritual growth, and listening to the fertile dark. It’s a time for slowing down. The only trouble is that it can be such a busy time.

Winter Rest offers you the support of community to create space for darkness and winter rest. As the Winter Solstice appraoches we will gather on Zoom for about 10 minutes to ritually unplug and prepare ourselves to enter into the dark together. The rest of the hour - or the evening if you like - is for you to rest.

Mid-Summer Celebration

Seasonal Celebrations
are vital to understanding our own seasons in life.

an image of beautiful trees, changing colors in the fall; what does fall teach us about change?
an image of spring's blooming flowers in a field beneath a sunset; what does spring teach us about our own blooming?
an image of two roads diverging in a winter forest, asking what winter teaches us about our paths
an image of sun-drenched sunflowers, following the sun with their buds; what does summer teach us to look for?

Stay up to date in every season.
