Dance to Activate All Things Good
Hooray! Today is one of my favorite days – the end of the darkest season of the year!
There are so many traditions for marking this transition: Groundhog Day, Candlemas, and St. Brigid’s Feast. This year tomorrow also marks the beginning of the new energy for the year of the snake (different from the official turning of the Chinese New Year this past week).
Today is also the Winter Water Blessing.
What a great day to celebrate the water and offer it all our love and support. The water will nurture the life that is now just beginning to awaken. In fact, with the Winter Water Blessing we will participate in making it happen: stirring up and activating vitality energy for the year to come.
As I shared recently in my blog, this year’s celebration will include many red bird lanterns, a symbol of hope for the year to come. Very mild weather is in the forecast. Please come, it is free and no experience is necessary.
The change in season also means that our dance schedule is shifting back to “normal time.” Thursday classes will be from 6:30 – 8:00 starting this week. We will again have a Bulgarian themed February in preparation for our favorite Bulgarian springtime traditions.
Looking ahead:
March 1, the fabulous community Martenitsa celebration is back with lots of live music and dancing. I highly recommend it! More information if you scroll down.
The Wisdom Dances Earth Day Celebration will be Sunday, April 27, beginning at 1 PM. More details to come!
I’m grateful for every opportunity to dance peace and harmony into the world with you.
